Cristante leads Roma in aerial duels won | OneFootball

Despite being on the receiving end of a lot of criticism, Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante continues to be involved in the starting line-up.

The player is in seventh season at Roma and may soon overtake the likes of Di Bartolomei, Pruzzo and Panucci with regards to the number of appearances made for the club (currently 314).

As reported by Il Messaggero, Cristante had been very close to joining Fiorentina in January.

However, the move collapsed due to the player’s considerable salary which the Viola refused to match.

Since then, Cristante has been able to climb his way back into Ranieri’s starting formation, benching Leandro Paredes in four of the last five games.

According to the newspaper, Cristante leads Roma in number of aerial duels won (51) and second for duels won (103) and balls recovered (41), behind only Koné, with whom he forms the starting pair in Roma’s midfield.
