Federico Dimarco and Marko Arnautovic were both pleased by the team’s 2-1 victory over Udinese in Serie A on Sunday evening, but both agree that the joy will only be temporary given the fixture pile-up that awaits the Nerazzurri between now and the end of the season.

Inter picked up a valuable three points in the Serie A title race after a dominant first-half display against Udinese that resulted in goals from Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi. Dimarco assisted both, in like-for-like attacking moves.

Speaking to DAZN after full-time, Dimarco spoke about the joy of winning, but insisted that the team do not have much time to swing their focus to Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Wednesday night.

“We know that our fans follow and support us every time, we have to carry on like that and repay them for their love,” he said.

“We have to keep working. Our minds were on the league today, from tomorrow we’ll be thinking about the Coppa Italia derby against Milan.”

Arnautovic shared a similar sentiment in his post-match chat with DAZN, insisting that Inter can only affect themselves and the teams they play against, but not the other teams in the Serie A title race.

“We have to concentrate on ourselves. We can’t do anything about the others. We will try to win the last eight games in the league, then we’ll see what happens. The team understands this moment.”
