Feyenoord confirm the arrival of Eredivisie star Sem Steijn from FC Twente | OneFootball

As reported by VI, the 23-year-old Dutchman will complete his move at the end of the season for a record transfer fee of €10 million plus bonuses. The attacking midfielder has signed a contract with the club that will run until mid-2029. Steijn has scored 23 Eredivisie goals this campaign, and is comfortably the top scorer in the division; nine goals more than the next highest.

Steijn has been at the crux of Twente‘s successful season, as they look to secure a European place through the Play-offs. Having joined Twente in 2022, the talented youngster has enjoyed three successful seasons at the top level, and is ready for the opportunity to play in the Champions League at De Kuip. ESPN reports that despite having signed a contract at Twente in the winter break, a deal that would keep him at the club until 2028, there was an agreement that the club would accept a good transfer offer. He becomes Robin van Persie’s first signing as Feyenoord manager, and joins a project in need of a rebuild, following the departure of Arne Slot at the end of last season.

The official announcement comes after the difficult news that striker Sam Lammers will be out for the rest of the season. De Telegraaf reports that the Enschede star has suffered a dislocated shoulder in training, having just been made available again following a muscle injury that had kept him out for a month. With this being the second time Lammers has dislocated his shoulder this campaign, it’s another big blow that Twente will have to deal with as they push for continental qualification.
