GdS: Milan ‘cannot afford’ to prioritise Coppa Italia despite European hopes

At present, if you ask anyone with an interest in AC Milan, they would rightly suggest that the Coppa Italia is everything, but a report has suggested otherwise.
In a failure of a season, Milan are sitting, looking at a branch of salvation, one that is reachable. It would not solve everything, far from it, and it could actually create more problems than it is worth. However, European football is a financial must.
To achieve this, the Rossoneri must beat Inter tomorrow night and then win in the final, but the focus can not be placed on these two games. Instead, the club have to remain interested in everything left to fight for, as Gazzetta dello Sport suggests they ‘cannot afford’ to do anything else.
An eight-point gap separates the Diavolo from fifth place; however, if Inter were to win the Coppa Italia, then the European parameters would be extended to sixth, and in turn seventh.
So, if the club are, for whatever reason, unsuccessful in the Coppa Italia, then there is still a slight chance at saving the season. Of course, winning two trophies and entering the European competition is the big preference. But if it all goes wrong in the final, for example, then at least there is still a hand left on the table.
