After last weekend’s Premier League results and Manchester City’s 5-2 win over Crystal Palace Pep Guardiola’s side do hold their hopes for qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League in their own hands. But they must continue to pick up victories, and this weekend, they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton. The Toffees are always a tricky opponent at home and David Moyes’ side will no doubt be up for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Since David Moyes took over from Sean Dyche in January he has consolidated Everton’s position in the Premier League. As always, Moyes has made Everton a tough side to beat. Last weekend they went to the City Ground and beat Nottingham Forest 1-nil in a quality showing from David Moyes’ side. They were arguably the better side at the City Ground and thoroughly deserved their victory which came courtesy of a late Abdoulaye Doucouré goal.

A glimpse at the Premier League table shows this. With Aston Villa and Chelsea snapping at their heels City simply have to win. That’s the reality of the situation they’re in.

But they’ll face an Everton side who are typically tough to beat under David Moyes. But City must win at Goodison Park it’s as simple as that.
