Reds attacker Cody Gakpo voiced his happiness after the Merseyside club won the Premier League title and hopes that Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to stay at the club to achieve more success.

Alexander-Arnold, one of Liverpool’s homegrown stars and their impressive performer over the course of the season, has yet to extend his contract beyond the current season, with Real Madrid reportedly circling.

Speaking to LFCTV during the title celebrations, Gakpo emphasized how crucial stability has been to Liverpool’s rise, and why keeping players like Alexander-Arnold is essential moving forward.

“The group didn’t change much from last season, so you can build on that,” Gakpo said.

As Liverpool looks ahead, there’s a clear ambition to strengthen the squad.

They have won the Premier League but they struggled in the Champions League this season and that is what they will aim to achieve next season, success in the European competition.

The base is set for Liverpool to achieve more success in the coming seasons but a lot will depend on what they do in the summer transfer window.

All eyes will be on Alexander-Arnold in the next few weeks with the title decided now.

Keeping him at the club would be a major boost for the Reds but the delay in signing a new contract at Anfield is only pointing in one direction: he has made up his mind to leave.
