Howe shortlisted for Barclays Manager of the Month award for April | OneFootball

The Magpies' push for Champions League qualification was boosted by their fine month, in which they won five and lost just one of their six league games, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Howe's side beat Brentford 2-1 before a 3-0 win at Leicester City at the start of the month.

The United head coach was then admitted to hospital with pneumonia, with Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones overseeing the 4-1 win over Manchester United and the 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace before the 4-1 reverse at Villa.

But Howe returned to the touchline for last weekend's 3-0 win over Ipswich Town, as his side became the top scorers in the month of April after some superb showings.
