EXCLUSIVE! These Coaches are ‘super high’ on one new Chelsea signing!

It wasn’t the official press conference for Maresca, I believe that might be coming later today. But Maresca has been interviewed for the Chelsea website and it is a bit of a reflection interview to see where the manager feels we are at right now.

Remember, just before Christmas, Chelsea were second in the league and everyone was calling them firm title challengers. But now, just a few months later, they are holding onto a Champions League spot by a thread and only just sat in fourth spot with many teams very close behind them challenging for those spots as well.

Maresca is in danger of finishing the season with around the same points as Mauricio Pochettino did with Chelsea last season and remember, that got him the sack!

The boss believes Chelsea are better off than they were two months ago and are playing better, in words that will truly puzzle many Blues fans!

He says:

“Personally, I am convinced we’re a better team than two months ago.”

“The reason why is that you need to go through this kind of [difficult] moment. With the amount of injuries we had, my duty was to try to find solutions and we tried to move players, change positions, and try to find different solutions.

“We are there [in the top four] – and we have been there all season – so it’s our duty to try to finish there. And as I’ve said, this club belongs in the Champions League so we have to do everything in our hands possible to bring the club there.”
