Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram could be available to face Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals first leg on Wednesday, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The French forward missed the last three games for the Nerazuuri due to an adductor injury.
Thuram has trained well today and may get the green light for the blockbuster clash against Barca if he makes good progress in his recovery.
The 27-year-old’s return will be positive news for manager Simone Inzaghi, as Inter’s recent struggles coincide with his absence.
The Nerazzurri have lost three games on the trot, exiting the Coppa Italia semi-final in a disappointing manner and slipping up in the Serie A title race.
Inzaghi struggled to fill the void left by Thuram’s absence, as none of Joaquin Correa, Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic could make the desired impact.
Thuram has enjoyed a prolific campaign this season, bagging 17 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
His partnership with Lautaro Martinez has been pivotal to Inter’s success this term.
Defender Benjamin Pavard has been ruled out of the tie against Barca after suffering a sprained ankle in the defeat against Roma on Sunday. Yann Bisseck will replace him.
Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries also returned from a brief injury lay-off against Roma.
Inter’s confidence is low, but they will back themselves against an unstoppable Barca side.
The Nerazzurri have enjoyed a productive European campaign, notably getting the better of Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.
