Inter Milan and Juventus will be participating in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer. They will be the two teams representing Serie A.

There will be 32 teams at the tournament in total.

And the prize money for the competition will be very high indeed.

On top of hefty revenues just for participating, the Nerazzurri, the Bianconeri, and the rest of the clubs in the Club World Cup will compete for significant further prize money.

The Guardian noted that FIFA will dole out more than €1 billion in prize money in total.

That is certainly a major incentive for the participating clubs.

The winner of the final would take home over €125 million in total.

However, The Guardian notes, that could come with a significant tax bill eating away into the revenues.

That is because the organizers of the tournament have yet to reach an agreement with US state and federal government regarding taxation.

Therefore, the winnings could be subject to the full state and federal taxes applicable in the US. That would be in addition to the taxes that Inter or Juventus would pay on prize money in Italy.
