Gianluca Andrissi and Stefano Vecchi are reportedly major candidates to take over as Sporting Director and coach respectively of the new Inter Milan Under-23 team.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Next season, Inter Milan will set up a new Under-23 team.
Similar to the Juventus Next Gen and AC Milan Futuro sides, it will be an intermediary step between the Nerazzurri’s youth teams and senior teams.
The Bianconeri in particularly have enjoyed success with this approach. They have used their Next Gen team to bed in players who have played a big role in the senior team, or else been sold for a profit.
The shining example of this pathway would be Kenan Yildiz.
This approach would therefore be an alternative to having young players go out on loan for senior playing time.
Among the players who will be a part of the project will be Thomas Berenbruch and Alessandro Calligaris.
Inter Milan are still ironing out the details of their forthcoming Under-23 team.
Among these will be the identity of some key senior figures in the team.
For the role of Sporting Director, Tuttosport report that Inter will tap Gianluca Andrissi.
Andrissi has a long association with the Nerazzurri. He has also worked at Spezia and Monza.
Therefore, Andrissi constitutes a familiar face. He will reportedly work closely alongside Inter Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin.
