Inter Milan are working to try and put a spanner in the works of a pact between Real Madrid and Como to keep Nico Paz at the Lariani.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri will rely on Paz’s desire personally to undermine the agreement.
Inter Milan’s interest in Nico Paz is virtually the worst-kept secret in Serie A.
The Argentine is not just a transfer target for the Nerazzurri. He is their dream signing for the upcoming summer window.
Paz’s sparkling form in his first season in the Italian top flight with Como has fully convinced Inter.
Inter Milan see the 20-year-old as the absolutely ideal player to refresh their midfield. Both in terms of his style of play, and his age and potential to grow even more.
The biggest obstacle to signing Nico Paz for Inter Milan has always looked to be his complicated ownership situation.
Como signed Paz outright from Real Madrid last summer. They did not just bring the Argentine in on loan.

However, there is a catch. Real Madrid retain both a sell-in clause, and a buyback option on Paz.
That means that control of the 20-year-old’s future has always rested in the Spanish capital.
Como, for their part, have their own ambitions. They want to keep Paz for more than just the one season.
And reports in recent weeks seem to indicate that the Lariani have found an agreement to do exactly that.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is happy to let Nico Paz stay at Como for one more season, where he has clearly found the right environment to skyrocket his development.
And Como coach Cesc Fabregas is certainly happy with this idea.
But Inter have been working on their own track to try and put Paz on a path to Milan.
The Nerazzurri have been aiming to convince Paz personally.
The Argentine has already given his own green light to the idea of joining Inter Milan.
And that will be the factor that the Nerazzurri hopes is decisive.
If they keep chipping away at Paz, convincing the 20-year-old that the San Siro is the right next step for him, it could very well undermine the informal agreement between Como and Real Madrid.
