RESULTS
That's all we have for tonight on another dramatic night of Premier League action.
Thank you for joining us!
That was the Reds' 100th win in the derby, and means they need just 13 points maximum to win the title.
A big, big night.
FULL TIME! Liverpool 1-0 Everton
The Reds restore their 12-point lead at the top of the table with a narrow Merseyside Derby win.
With eight games left, their name may as well be on the trophy.
Everton put up a good fight, but it is now 22 times David Moyes has gone to Anfield, and 22 times he has not won.
Six minutes added on.
Into the final minutes at Anfield.
Do Everton have a late goal in them as they did at Goodison?
FULL TIME! Brighton 0-3 Aston Villa
Villa's win sees them leapfrog the Seagulls, and breathe new life into their league campaign.
It's been a brilliant week for them.
FULL TIME! Newcastle 2-1 Brentford
Big win for the Magpies, who kick on from their EFL Cup triumph and move into fifth place.
GOAL! Brighton 0-3 Aston Villa
In the 10th minute of added time, Donyell Malen scores his first goal for Villa, capping off a great night for Unai Emery.
Three goals from his three January signings. Not too shabby.
FULL TIME! Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace
So, so close for the Saints, who remain in need of two points to better Derby's 07-08 low of 11.
FULL TIME! Bournemouth 1-2 Ipswich
A first league win of 2025 for the Tractor Boys, and a very impressive one.
Nine points off safety with eight games to go. Can they use this as a launchpad for a great escape to match any?
FULL TIME! Manchester City 2-0 Leicester City
Pep Guardiola's men are into fourth, while Ruud van Nistelrooy's hapless run continues.
Vitor Reis is on for his Man City debut at the end of a very easy win over Leicester.
GOAL! Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace
Oh, the heartbreak.
Matheus Franca levels it for Palace in the first minute of added time.
They'll fancy themselves to win it from here...
There's eight minutes being added on at St. Mary's...
Outrageous strike from the Italian.
Iliman Ndiaye replaces Jack Harrison for Everton as David Moyes looks for a way back into this game.
We're closing in on full time across five grounds.
Will there be late, late drama?
Into the final 10 minutes of our first five games.
Can Saints and Ipswich seal big wins?
GOAL! Brighton 0-2 Aston Villa
That should be the three points for Villa, and it's yet another goal for Marco Asensio.
He slots home from Morgan Rogers' cut back.
What a loan signing he has been.
GOAL! Newcastle 2-1 Brentford
Sandro Tonali restores the Magpies' lead with a superb strike from a tight angle.
GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Everton
The deadlock is finally broken at Anfield, and it's Diogo Jota who has given the Reds the lead.
Everton lose the ball, and eventually it comes to the Portuguese forward who dances through defenders and fires home.
His first goal since January. What a time to get it.
CLOSE!
Ethan Pinnock almost turns the game on its head at St. James', crashing a header onto the post.
GOAL! Bournemouth 1-2 Ipswich
Game on. Evanilson pulls one back for the Cherries, tapping in after Alex Palmer's save from Lewis Cook fell to him.
GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Brentford
Bryan Mbuemo sends Nick Pope the wrong way with a very cool spot kick.
PENALTY TO BRENTFORD!
Bournemouth have a penalty given and then reversed by VAR.
It could be Ipswich's night.
GOAL! Bournemouth 0-2 Ipswich
The Tractor Boys are motoring!
Liam Delap has doubled their lead at the Vitality early into the second half, finishing smartly after a one-two with Broadhead.
DISALLOWED GOAL!
Brighton think they have an equaliser through Simon Adingra, but its ruled that Kaoru Mitoma handled the ball in the build up.
GOAL! Brighton 0-1 Aston Villa
Marcus Rashford has done it again, following up his first Villa goals in the FA Cup at the weekend with his first in the league.
He finishes off a very swift counter from a corner.
Back under way elsewhere, but no early second half goals.
Can Southampton and Ipswich hold out?
And we're at half time at Anfield after a tight first half.
Everton will be happy, but probably should be ahead.
HALF TIME!
City, Newcastle, Southampton and Ipswich all ahead at the break.
SO CLOSE!
Beto thinks he's scored again. He does so well to latch onto a pass and get through on Kelleher, but sees his shot bounce back off the post.
The Toffees have had the best chance so far.. They might live to regret not scoring.
GOAL! Newcastle 1-0 Brentford
The first goal has come and from the most reliable of sources for Newcastle.
Jacob Murphy puts a fine ball in from the right, and Isak is there to finish from close range.
Questionable Brentford defending it must be said.
Abdoulaye Doucouré has made the most tackles of any player so far at Anfield with three.
That is three more than his completed passes so far. Some stat.
CLOSE!
Yasin Ayari is so close to breaking the deadlock for Brighton, but his free kick bounces off the bar.
Emi Martínez was beaten all ends up.
There's been just one shot on target so far at St. James'.
An odd one considering Brentford's style and Newcastle possessing one of the best strikers in the business.
DISSALOWED GOAL!
Beto is inches from giving Everton the lead in the derby for a second time this season.
He finishes past Kelleher coolly, but is ruled just offside.
Lively start at Anfield.
GOAL! Bournemouth 0-1 Ipswich
Well, well!
After Southampton take a shock lead, Ipswich follow suit.
Nathan Broadhead is the scorer, skipping past Dean Huijsen and firing past Kepa.
Is the greatest of great escapes on?
Not a whole amount to report from the other games, with no goals at St. James' Park, the Vitality Stadium or the Amex.
That surely will change soon.
GOAL! Manchester City 2-0 Leicester City
An absolute howler from Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen, who comes for the ball only to spill it.
It falls to the feet of Omar Marmoush, who fires home for his fifth league goal for City.
They all come at the Etihad too.
James Tarkowski is a lucky boy not to be sent off, after following through on a clearance with a boot right into Alexis Mac Allister's leg.
Very lucky.
Liverpool have come out flying, dominating the ball in front of a raucous Anfield.
It's also the first goal the Eagles have conceded on their league travels in 2025!
Shock on the cards?
GOAL! Southampton 1-0 Crystal Palace
What's this?
Southampton have taken the lead through Paul Onuachu, who powers a header past Dean Henderson.
Saints need three points to ensure they beat Derby's all-time Premier League low points tally of 11.
KICK OFF!
And we're under way in the 246th Merseyside derby.
There's thousands of City fans who missed that goal as part of an opening nine minute protest against the club's increased ticket prices.
I somehow don't think they will care with far bigger things on their mind.
First league goal since December 2023, and he's enjoyed it.
CLOSE!
Jean-Philippe Mateta almost gives Palace an early lead with a fierce strike from 25 yards that crashes downI off the crossbar but doesn't bounce over the line.
It could be another very long night for Southampton.
GOAL! Manchester City 1-0 Leicester
It's barely taken two minutes and City are already ahead.
Jack Grealish is the scorer, finishing off a Savinho cut back after Leicester gifted the hosts the ball.
A long overdue Premier League goal for the former Villa man.

And we are under way on a busy night.
We're less than five minutes away from kick off in our first five games, with the Merseyside Derby starting 15 minutes later.
Bournemouth's form has tailed off late but they are still only four points behind City, and take on seemingly doomed Ipswich Town.
Crystal Palace, on the other end, are flying high in 2025, and will look to inflict further misery on basement boys Southampton.
Elsewhere, Newcastle will be looking to build on their famous cup win and kick on in the Champions League qualification race with a win at home to Brentford.
Manchester City currently occupy what is likely to be a fifth qualification spot, and will be expected to make light work of Leicester City at the Etihad, even without Erling Haaland.
The headline fixture tonight is the Merseyside Derby, which sees Arne Slot take on Everton for the first time at Anfield.
The Reds manager will be looking to bounce back from Champions League and EFL Cup disappointment, and restore a 12-point lead at the top of the table.
