The winter transfer window came and went, and Maghnes Akliouche stayed put at AS Monaco. But with summer on the way, interest in the French midfielder is expected to ramp up—and it remains to be seen whether a move will tempt him this time.
Back in December, CaughtOffside reported that several top clubs were tracking Akliouche, including RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Inter Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, and Newcastle United.
Among them, Manchester City appear to be the most serious suitor. While no deal came together in January, Akliouche is well aware of the growing attention as the next transfer window approaches.
At this point, Monaco aren’t looking to part ways unless they receive an offer of at least €60 million. Still, Akliouche’s future is once again a major talking point heading into the summer.

L’Équipe reports that the Parisians have positioned themselves to bring Akliouche this summer, and the player is not unaffected by PSG’s interest. However, there will be strong competition, notably from Manchester City.
Another potential suitor for the young Frenchman is Newcastle. Last month, TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reported that Newcastle United had scouts watching France U21’s 5-3 win over England during the international break.
Sporting director Paul Mitchell is reportedly playing a key role in driving the club’s interest, with the French winger now being considered a serious option to strengthen the right side of their attack.
TBR Football also notes that Akliouche is open to a move to St. James’ Park — something that could prove crucial if a deal comes together.
