Manchester United have identified Victor Osimhen as one of their primary transfer targets for next summer, but the latter is in love with another club.

The Red Devils are keen to bolster their attacking ranks with a new marksman capable of finding the back of the net on a consistent basis, something that Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to do this season, with each of them netting just three times in the Premier League this term.

The EPL giants have been linked with a host of profiles in recent weeks, but Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenber revealed a four-man shortlist that pits Osimhen alongside Viktor Gyokeres, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko.

While Gyokeres might be Ruben Amorim’s preferred candidate due to their successful collaboration at Sporting CP, many consider Osimhen to be the dream signing based on his imposing physical presence, stunning pace and seamless ability to find the back of the net.

As reported on Wednesday, the Nigerian bomber is keen to make the move to the Premier League after missing out on a transfer to Chelsea last summer.

Nevertheless, the Napoli-owned star insists he’s enjoying his time on loan at Galatasaray, and that he intends to repay the supporters’ overwhelming passion.

“I love Galatasaray very much,” said the 26-year-old after scoring a brace that secured a 2-0 victory over Fenerbahce in yet another fiery edition of the Derby Intercontinental.

“I wouldn’t have been able to score those goals if it weren’t for my teammates. I want to reciprocate the love Galatasaray fans have shown me. I will do everything I can for Galatasaray.”

Osimhen’s comments sparked a debat amongst fans and observers. While some might interpret it as the Nigerian announcing his intention to stay in Istanbul on a permanent basis, others would suggest he’s only vowing to give his best for Galatasaray between and the end of the season.

The striker will return to Napoli once his loan expires, but he’s unlikely to dwell at the Italian capital given his torn relationship with the hierarchy.
