The international break punctuated an exciting period for Manchester United as the Red Devils had won successive games after holding Arsenal to a stalemate and notably outperforming them at Old Trafford.
Man United booked a place in the quarter-final of the Europa League after knocking out Real Sociedad and followed it with a victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.
The Reds would love to continue that run, but the international break is here, meaning club football takes a backseat. However, Man Utd players were in action across the globe. One caught the eye – Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund applied a neat finish to score the only goal before hitting a Ronaldo trademark Siuuu celebration in front of the Man Utd legend.
The 22-year-old came on from the bench with 21 minutes to go and had an adventurous outing. The former Atalanta star missed a big chance. He lost two of his two duels and possession twice. He still managed to bury that opportunity when it mattered.
Hojlund broke his barren duck when he netted the opener for Man Utd in the victory over the Foxes. United faithful will be hoping he can carry this outstanding form back to Old Trafford.
Man Utd need Hojlund in excellent form as they prepare for a crucial run of games against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Lyon, and Manchester City.
Hojlund will be desperate to score goals for Man Utd after being berated for his measly tally of three league goals and poor overall play.
There have been talks of a return to Italy to join Napoli in an exchange deal for Victor Osimhen, but Hojlund will be determined to prove his mettle between now and the end of the season.
