Netherlands Star’s Agent Confident Of Contract Extension With Inter Milan: ‘There’s No Doubt’ | OneFootball

Agent Federico Pastorello says there is “no doubt” that Stefan de Vrij will extend his contract with Inter Milan this summer.

Pastorello spoke to Italian broadcaster Radio Sportiva, via FCInterNews. He also updated on two of his other clients, Francesco Acerbi and Mehdi Taremi.

Defender Stefan de Vrij is now in his seventh season with Inter Milan.

The Netherlands international joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2018.

De Vrij has won the Serie A title twice with Inter. He has also helped the club to win the Coppa Italia twice, and the Supercoppa Italiana on three occasions.

De Vrij has started in a Europa League final for Inter, and was part of the team that reached the Champions League final in 2023.

The former Lazio defender has made over two hundred appearances. And this season, his form has been as strong as ever, as he has remained a defensive stalwart at the age of 33.

At the moment, Stefan de Vrij is under contract with Inter Milan only until the end of June.

However, the player’s agent expects that he’ll remain at the club beyond that point.

“Stefan has been at Inter for many years,” said Pastorello. “He’s happy there.”

“Even if they have plenty of players in defense, with sixty matches a year to play, there’s room for everyone.”

“There’s no doubt that he’ll stay,” Pastorello made clear. “He’ll stay for at least another season, and then we’ll see.”

Acerbi’s Time At Inter “Worthy Of Being Put In A Frame”

Meanwhile, Pastorello gave his thoughts on another of his clients, de Vrij’s fellow defender Francesco Acerbi.

“Acerbi has always shown great things on the pitch,” said the agent. “But he’s very discreet and quiet off of it.”

“His years at Inter are worthy of being put in a frame,” Pastorello said of Acerbi.

The agent noted that “His arrival at the Nerazzurri was, let’s say, something that Simone Inzaghi forced through a bit.”

“But that’s because the coach knew his quality well.”

“He was looking for a player in that specific role. And there weren’t many other options.”

Pastorello noted that “negotiating with Lazio is always tricky.”

“And Francesco’s age didn’t make the agreement with Lazio any easier. But Inzaghi’s insistence prevailed in the end.”

“These kinds of transfers will be remembered for a long time,” the agent declared. “He’s put in extraordinary performances since joining Inter.”

Meanwhile, Pastorello also gave his thoughts on striker Mehdi Taremi and his form for Inter.

“Taremi has had his opportunities to date,” said the agent. “But unfortunately he’s only shown part of what he can offer.”

“He’s gotten over a physical problem that had affected him for several months,” Pastorello said.

“I’m convinced that he’ll make his contribution over the run-in of the season.”

Furthermore, the agent said that Taremi is “very eager to show his worth.”
