Charles De Ketelaere has been called up for Atalanta’s clash against his former team AC Milan tomorrow, having recovered much faster than expected from an adductor strain.

Following the 4-0 win against Udinese, Milan are looking to clinch another win ahead of the Coppa Italia decider against Inter next week. Atalanta are the next opponents and while it initially didn’t look like the former Rossoneri man De Ketelaere would make it, he has been called up.

As confirmed by Atalanta, via Football Italia, the Belgian playmaker has been added to the matchday squad after making a swift recovery. Swift indeed, as he wasn’t expected back before the beginning of May due to an adductor strain, shortening his recovery time by two weeks.

Of course, it had to be his former club Milan that he made the swift recovery for, eyeing another goal after scoring in the reverse fixture at Gewiss stadium. That being said, he likely won’t play from the first minute, with another former Milan man in Mario Pasalic expected to start.

Milan have recovered both Mike Maignan and Santiago Gimenez for tomorrow’s game, so it’s not just good news for Atalanta, and it should be an exciting clash underneath the San Siro lights.
