PSG break AC Milan record before Arsenal showdown | OneFootball

As Arsenal prepare for their Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain, their opponents arrive on an historic high.

PSG’s 1-1 draw away to Nantes this week not only preserved their unbeaten domestic run for the season but also set a new record for the longest away unbeaten streak in Europe’s top leagues.

Luis Enrique’s side have now gone 39 Ligue 1 matches without defeat away from home, surpassing AC Milan’s 38-game run in Serie A from 1991 to 1993.

Speaking after the match, Enrique said: “Today is a special day for us, beating AC Milan’s record. I congratulate my players for that.”

A first-half strike from Vitinha looked to have secured all three points for PSG before Douglas Augusto equalised for Nantes with six minutes left to play.

Substitute Gonçalo Ramos nearly found a winner in stoppage time, but his header struck the crossbar.

PSG are unbeaten in Ligue 1 since May 2024 and are now just four matches away from becoming the first team to complete a full French top-flight season without a loss.

The current record was set by Nantes in the 1994/95 campaign, when they went 32 games unbeaten before a single late defeat.

The draw, however, did little to alter PSG’s domestic position. They have already secured a fourth consecutive league title but still have a game against Nice on Friday before they can turn their full attention to the Emirates, where Mikel Arteta’s side await.

Arsenal, who drew 2–2 with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, have the weekend off from Premier League duty, meaning their build-up will be focused entirely on the Champions League clash.

For PSG, they remain unbeaten in Ligue 1, but the knockout rounds of Europe offer a different kind of test and Arsenal have already shown they are more than capable of dismantling elite opposition.
