A stir was caused in France following the image of a young Paris Saint-Germain supporter with his head in his hands after being kicked out of the Champions League game against Aston Villa.

The child was attending the game as part of his birthday celebrations, but was seated in the home end for PSG’s visit to Villa Park. The young supporter was forced to leave the stadium after he was seen celebrating PSG’s goals. Unlike in many other countries, clubs in England have strict rules against away fans being present in the home end, and supporting the wrong team is grounds for expulsion.

The fan was invited on Monday by FC Nantes to the Stade de la Beaujoire to watch the 1-1 draw between Nantes and PSG. According to L’Équipe, the PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has invited the 14-year-old and his family to watch the club tonight at the Parc des Princes. PSG fullback Lucas Hernandez also reportedly reached out to the boy.
