After a narrow win over Getafe, Real Madrid will be gearing up for the upcoming Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona.
The reigning Spanish champions were dealt a major blow in the win over Getafe as two key players in Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba picked up fresh injuries.
The absence of these players will further reduce Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive options. But it appears Real Madrid fans may have some reason to celebrate going into this final.
That is because Real Madrid are hopeful that Ferland Mendy will be able to return in time for the Barcelona clash this weekend.
According to El Chiringuito, Real Madrid have gotten seemingly optimistic about Mendy’s fitness and believe the Frenchman can feature against Barcelona.

It must be noted that Mendy returned to team training on Tuesday and could be ready to make his return after picking up an injury against Atletico Madrid, earlier in the year.
Mendy has been out for six weeks, so he will be itching to return to the field and help out Los Blancos in the final.
Mendy’s return could be tactically important for the Spanish giants, who are devoid of options in the left-back position.
The recent injury to Camavinga, in particular, means Carlo Ancelotti has on option but to start Fran Garcia in the final.
But should Mendy return to full fitness, the Italian might think about rushing the Frenchman back to action, especially knowing what’s at stake.
The coming few days, to that end, should go a long way in determining whether or not Mendy will be able to feature against the Blaugrana this weekend.
