Inter Milan’s last two matches have felt like a borderline disaster.

The Nerazzurri came crashing back down to earth following heroics against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. They lost against Bologna in Serie A, and then AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.

Therefore, Inter Milan are now level on points with Napoli in the league table. They face an absolutely gruelling task trying to fend off the Partenopei in the title race.

And having crashed out of the Coppa Italia, the Nerazzurri can no longer win the European Treble – and face the prospect of a season without silverware.

Even more significant than the impact of these two losses in terms of the league table could be the psychological blow they deliver to Inter.

At the moment, there is a strong feeling that the momentum is against Inter Milan. And that can be hard to reverse.
