Tottenham achieved their greatest feat in European soccer this season when they qualified for the UEFA Europa League semi-finals with a 1-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt. As a result, Ange Postecoglu is getting credit for maintaining his chances of staying at Spurs after a very shaky season.
However, qualification came with great difficulty as Frankfurt dominated possession and occupied the offensive field for most of the time. With more shots on target, full-back Rasmus Kristensen was the highlight of the match in terms of chances created, but the Bundesliga side couldn't muster a very effective attack to have a real chance of scoring.
On the other hand, Tottenham resisted Frankfurt's attempts at pressure and secured their first-half lead in the 43rd minute when Dominic Solank converted a penalty after a foul by Kauê Santos in the box on James Maddison.

In a season marked by a lot of underperformance and injuries that ended up hindering the development of Ange Postecoglu's work, qualification for the UEFA Europa League semi-final is a great gift for the fans who suffered a lot during the year, even flirting with the relegation zone during the middle of the Premier League season.
Tottenham need to prioritize all their attentions and focus their efforts on trying to secure at least a place in the final of the UEFA Europa League, with the chance of lifting a trophy and a place in next season's Champions League if they win. Spurs can send out a message that they are alive and kicking on the world soccer stage if they reach the final of the continental tournament in Spain.
And finally, their semi-final opponents will be inferior to Eintracht Frankfurt, making it very possible for Spurs to lift a continental trophy at the end of the year.
