The Bundesliga enters matchday 32, and this is where things get serious as survival is at stake as well as the battle for European places. So here is what can be confirmed this weekend:
This one is pretty simple: if Bayern Munich beats RB Leipzig, then they will be crowned Bundesliga champions. However, if Bayern cannot beat Leipzig, but Bayer Leverkusen lose to SC Freiburg a day later, they will be crowned champions.
If Bayern lose and Leverkusen win, the decider will then be pushed back to Bayern’s final home game of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Obviously, there is the possibility that the title race could go down to the final day if Bayern lose their next two games, but considering how Leverkusen have played recently, that is not going to happen.
By far the most volatile race in the Bundesliga this season.
The only team that can confirm a place in Europe next season is Eintracht Frankfurt.
If Leipzig loses on Saturday and Frankfurt beats Mainz on Sunday, then they will join Bayern and Leverkusen in the Champions League next season.
Down to 10th still has a chance of qualifying for Europe next season, but only the top six will be in Europe next season, unless Stuttgart mount some sort of miracle to qualify for Europe, they are currently 11th on 41 points.
The big clash in terms of fighting for survival happens tonight (Friday) between Heidenheim and Bochum. If Bochum win, they are only two points off the relegation spot, currently occupied by their opponents. However, if the Ruhr side fails to win, they will be relegated.
A win for Heidenheim gives them a chance of survival as they will sit only two points behind Hoffenheim. Things will begin to get very nervous for the Kraichgauer as they must beat Borussia Mönchengladbach to maintain their five-point lead heading into the final two games of the season.
Kiel also has the chance to overtake Hoffenheim right at the end of the season, but they need to be perfect in their final three games of the season and hope that TSG lose all three games, as the gap between them is currently eight points.
