Barcelona captain rushes back on private jet ahead of crucial Osasuna clash | OneFootball

Despite the last matches of the March international having been played only a few hours ago, FC Barcelona are set to return to action tomorrow as they face Osasuna in the La Liga game for matchday 29 that was postponed because of Dr. Carles Minarro’s death.

A major part of the Blaugrana team participated in the international games that were scheduled for this break. Some of these players have already returned to train under Hansi Flick, while others, like Raphinha, were playing with their national sides only a few hours ago.

Another player who got free from his national team duties quite late was the defender Ronald Araujo, who remained an unused substitute in the game between Uruguay and Bolivia.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that in order to return to Barcelona in time for the match against Osasuna, the centre-back is already aboard a private plane that will take him to Spain.

The defender is accompanying several other players from his national team, including the Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, the Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Gimenez, and the Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez.

These four players did not return with the rest of their team to Montevideo but remained at La Paz. From there, they took the private flight that would take them to Madrid.

Thus, Araujo can return to Barcelona late on Wednesday and would be available for Hansi Flick to be called up for the upcoming league game.

However, it remains to be seen whether the German coach will take any risks with the defender. He can either call him up in the squad and keep him on the bench in case of any emergencies, or can decide not to call him up for this game to let him rest and get in better shape for the upcoming games.
