Celtic No.1 Kasper Schmeichel was pictured in training this morning ahead of Sunday’s game against St Johnstone.

The Scottish Champions need three wins to retain their title and had expected to wrap it up with the Dane on the sidelines after he picked up an injury during the last international break.

However, in a post on Twitter this morning, the club showed Schmeichel in training as he eyes a swift return to action.

Brendan Rodgers expected the player to be absent for five weeks after the injury caused him to go to hospital.

Deputy Sinisalo kept a clean sheet during the 3-0 win over Hearts last weekend and is expected to keep the gloves this weekend for a trip to Perth. However, it is a major boost to have the No.1 back in training so soon after he was injured.

Schmeichel will likely have the Scottish Cup Semi Final on Easter Sunday in his mind as he looks to work his way back to full fitness. The 38-year-old was instrumental in bringing the Premier Sports League Cup back to the club in December following his spot kick stop during the shoot-out with theRangers.

Now Celtic’s Great Dane will want to mark his first season with Celtic with a Treble.

Meanwhile Sinisalo is expected to retain the gloves for the visit to Perth on Sunday lunchtime and he spoke to The Celtic Star and a few other fan media sites this morning. Conor Spence was there for The Celtic Star, he’s second up asking questions four, five and six and you can watch the video below…
