This article ponders whether we are nearing the end for Jamie Vardy and his beloved Leicester City. The Foxes may have a new squad for next season.
Leicester City supporters have been spoiled by the presence of Jamie Vardy for well over a decade now. He led them to domestic glory with three incredible trophies. Not to mention leading the line in multiple European competitions, including the elite Champions League. While doing so he also played for his country, England, and scored seven cherished goals. Obviously the quality and prowess of Wayne Rooney and then Harry Kane limited the Fox's international appearances. Yet JV9 will be remembered as an English football great.
Vardy was once a world-class pedigree racehorse in Premier League striker terms. Although when he arrived at King Power Stadium from Fleetwood Town, he was wild and needed taming. But raw talent, speed and desire was prevalent. Focus, dedication and goals, lots of goals, followed! Even at age 38, Vardy still provides and scores. The Sheffield-born professional has produced 10 EPL finishes and assists combined for his team during this campaign. Which is actually a decent return at his time of life, whilst playing in a terrible side that will likely be relegated.
Nonetheless the LCFC icon will be approaching 40 if the east Midlands outfit manage to be immediately promoted once more. And the squad requires a drastic overhaul, possibly even while competing in the second division. The powers that be on Filbert Way might want to go in a different direction and could decide not to keep the centre forward.
As tough as it is to acknowledge, is Leicester's Jamie Vardy party finally over? Is this the end, or will there be one last Foxes function in the Championship with their distinguished luminary?
