Rashford is out of favour at the club and wants to leave Old Trafford as soon as possible. However, his loan move to AC Milan could be hindered by his current wages.

Ruben Amorim has sidelined Rashford from the squad, and the Englishman gave an interview where he openly stated his desire to leave the club. This has complicated matters at United as they want to find a solution to the long-running saga.

Rashford receives a high salary of €14 million-a-year and is one of the highest-paid players for the club. Hence, any club that would be signing him on loan will hesitate to meet the wages that he is currently being paid. Moreover, the Red Devils are set to demand a high transfer fee if they have to sell the player permanently in January, and hence a permanent move is off the cards.

The La Liga sides like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona were interested in the Manchester United star on loan, but his wages were the biggest obstacle to their path. Now, AC Milan wants to sign him and has already communicated their desire to Manchester United to sign him on loan.

How AC Milan could manage to sign him?

There is no question of a permanent move to AC Milan, but even a loan move looks difficult as Milan are not ready to pay even half of the wage that he receives every year at Manchester United. However, they could still get the player on loan if United paid a big percentage of the wages of Rashford. The Red Devils are already familiar with such a deal, as they paid a big percentage of the wages of Jadon Sancho when he moved on loan to Borussia Dortmund last season.

If the Red Devils help AC Milan in such a fashion as the Sancho deal, then Rashford might be moving to the San Siro in January. However, it remains to be seen if Manchester United do add a mandatory buyout clause in the loan deal. Rashford has made it clear that he wants to leave the club but stay in Europe.
