Alex Jimenez is suspended for Milan’s upcoming Serie A match against Fiorentina on Saturday, but he will still be involved in competitive action, as he will instead play with Milan Futuro in their Serie C relegation scrap instead.
Jimenez picked up his fifth Serie A yellow card of the 2024-25 during his side’s 2-1 loss against Napoli last weekend, which means he will have to sit out of the next league fixture, which falls against Fiorentina on Saturday.
Serie A bans are competition-specific, which means that Jimenez was still able to feature in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Inter on Wednesday. For the same reason, the 19-year-old is also eligible to turn out for Milan Futuro in Serie C.

The Futuro team, currently led by 2006 World Cup winner Massimo Oddo, are in a tricky position in Serie C Girone B. In what is the team’s maiden season, they currently sit in 18th place in the league table on 27 points after 34 matches.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Oddo requested to have Jimenez available as a one-off given that he is suspended in Serie A, and the young Spaniard agreed with no hesitation.
Jimenez will not be the only ‘senior’ Milan player to feature for the Futuro side, as teenage talents Francesco Camarda and Mattia Liberali have both been regular features in 2025, as has Davide Bartesaghi. All three have already appeared in the top flight.
