Spurs thought to have agreed a fee with Bayern Munich to sign forward Mathys Tel
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou says the club are exploring the possibility of signing a centre-half after Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury against Elfsborg on Thursday.
Dragusin jarred his knee in the second half of the Europa League win over the Swedish side and is being assessed, with Postecoglou saying he will not be available for Sunday's visit to Brentford.
Spurs are in the market for a new forward before Monday's transfer deadline, with Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel a leading target, and Postecoglou says they could also try to land a new centre-half.
"I think depending on the extent of Radu’s (injury), it might be an area we need to look at and certainly this weekend (we are) exploring some options," he said.
Spurs are thought to have agreed a fee with Bayern in the region of £50million for Tel, 19, but face competition from a host of English clubs, including Aston Villa.
Asked what he knew about interest in the French forward, Postecoglou said: "Not a great deal. I usually find out at the tail end of this stuff what's going on. Obviously we're exploring some opportunities in the last couple of days of the window to see what we can do. But nothing's across my desk yet.
"I reckon the way the world works you [the media] will probably find out before me, mate. So we'll see."
