Attacker invited to train with Man United as Amorim decision expected – report | OneFootball

Manchester United are taking a look at Charlotte FC forward Nimfasha Berchimas and have invited him to train with the club at Carrington, according to the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old was offered the chance to have a trial with the Red Devils before head coach Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag, and he will be hoping to impress the Portuguese and the Red Devils coaching staff as he could secure a deal if things go well.

Berchimas is on the radar of a couple of European clubs, and Bayern Munich are also monitoring his progress having handed him a trial in 2022.

The teenage sensation made his MLS debut aged 15 back in February, becoming the 9th youngest player in MLS history.

He signed a contract with the club at 14 back in November 2022, making him the sixth-youngest player in MLS history to sign professionally, and he could be playing for Man United soon if he can prove himself during the upcoming trial.

Last year, Berchimas became the youngest American player to score at the Under-17 World Cup since Freddy Adu, finishing the tournament with three goals.

The USMNT Under-20 international has huge potential and has made three MLS appearances this year, but it remains to be seen whether he has what it takes to break into the Man United first-team.

Berchimas can sign a professional deal in the Premier League when he turns 17 in February 2025, and while he could be handed a deal by the Red Devils, he could first link up with their youth teams before getting a chance to prove himself under Amorim.

Man United have recruited some quality youngsters in recent months as they prepare for the future, and the Burundi-born American could be next.

He has the potential to become a Premier League star in the near future and it will be intriguing to see whether he can land himself a deal with the Old Trafford club after his trial.
