Dani Olmo has been handed a major relief as CSD put out a statement in favour of Barcelona by doubling down on the precautionary measure provided earlier.

This means Olmo will remain registered with the Barcelona team until the end of the season. And therefore, he is eligible to participate once he returns from his injury.

The Spaniard had picked up a fresh injury at the end of last month, which initially ruled him out for three weeks, thereby leading to fears that he may miss both Champions League quarterfinal matches against Borussia Dortmund.

However, a recent report from Catalunya Radio (h/t FCB World) suggests Barça are optimistic about the return of Olmo for the second leg clash against Dortmund.

If the Spaniard does indeed return to full fitness in time for the second leg, it could serve as a major boost to Barcelona.

This is primarily because of Olmo’s experience in playing against Dortmund. Having played in the Bundesliga for many years, the playmaker is well aware of Dortmund’s strengths and weaknesses.

This could prove to be useful given that Barça have historically played very few times against the Black and Yellows in the Champions League.

That said, Barça have more than one option to replace Olmo in the creative department, especially with Fermin Lopez and Gavi more than ready to step in.

It must also be noted that Ferran Torres has been in excellent form lately and could be accommodated in the Barcelona attack, with Raphinha operating in the number ten role.
