Barcelona star expected to miss Copa del Rey final through injury | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to miss the club’s upcoming Copa del Rey final showdown with Real Madrid.

That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.

Frontman Lewandowski of course set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital earlier this evening.

As much came after the Pole was forced to limp out of the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

En route to a comeback 4-3 triumph, Lewandowski went to ground clutching his hamstring late on, before quickly being hooked from proceedings.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, Hansi Flick confirmed that a round of medical scans have been pencilled in for his star striker on Sunday.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then the Barcelona faithful should not expect positive news from as much.

As per AS:

‘The initial feeling in the locker room is very negative. In fact, there is already open talk of a torn hamstring in his left leg. If the extent of the injury is confirmed, the international would be completely ruled out of the Cup, as the minimum outage would be three weeks.’
