Sometimes players score magnificent goals directly from a corner-kick. On other occasions, however, somebody is left with egg on their face.

In Argentina’s Primera División on Friday, two Defensa y Justicia players were left red-faced after Víctor Malcorra gave Lanús the lead.

Malcorra whipped a ball into the near post that should have been comfortably dealt with.

But a complete breakdown in communication saw Walter Bou pass on responsibility and goalkeeper Ezequiel Unsain caught unawares as the ball slipped through his legs.

Luckily for the visitors, Raúl Loaiza equalised in the second half to rescue a point.

We’re guessing there’ll be some extra set-piece defending for the Halcón at training this week!
