Former Real Madrid attacking sensation explains why he left the club – “My dreams came true”

It has been almost two years since Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid, in favour of a shock move to Al Ittihad.
The Frenchman had left Real Madrid at the peak of his career, coming on the back of a 2022/23 campaign that saw him score 27 goals in all competitions.
His decision to leave Real Madrid, therefore, had surprised many. And now, in a recent interaction, the veteran forward has given an explanation on why he made the decision to leave Real Madrid.
Speaking to Chiringuito Inside, Benzema was asked about his departure from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023.

Explaining his decision, the veteran forward said, “I did everything with Real Madrid. I joined as a boy and left as a man with many titles and the Ballon d’Or. All my dreams came true.”
Benzema indeed had an extraordinary spell at Real Madrid, featuring in 648 competitive matches during his 14-year spell at the club.
During this period, Benzema bagged no less than five Champions League titles as well as countless other accolades, thereby becoming one of the most decorates strikers of the 21st century.
Now, of course, Benzema is still plying his trade at Al Ittihad, with his current contract not expiring until the summer of 2026.
At a time when his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a Saudi Arabia exit, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Benzema.
