Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have been discussing how they see the Premier League top six ending up in May.
We are now at the halfway point after 19 rounds of Premier League matches played.
So how do the two former players see the 2024/25 table ending up?
Both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have given their predictions for top six.
They have each listed the clubs from one to six (see below) as they see them finishing at the end of the season.
So what do you think will be the final placings at the top end?
Here is a reminder of where we stand currently.
Premier League table on the morning of 1 January 2025:
Things starting to get interesting, especially from our perspective as Newcastle United fans.
Amazing how four wins in a row can transform the picture (five wins in a row if you include progress to the cup semi-final).
This is how Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher predict the final Premier League top six to look.
Jamie Carragher
First – Liverpool
Second – Arsenal
Third – Chelsea
Fourth – Man City
Fifth – Newcastle United
Sixth – Forest
Gary Neville
First – Arsenal
Second – Liverpool
Third – Chelsea
Fourth – Man City
Fifth – Aston Villa
Sixth – Forest
The Sky Sports pair have explained their respective choices to finish fifth…
Gary Neville on why he thinks Aston Villa with finish fifth:
“If Aston Villa drop out of the Champions League in February or March, Unai Emery is the type to really get them cracking towards the end of the season and they’ll finish strong to get that fifth spot.”
Jamie Carragher on why he thinks Newcastle United will finish fifth:
“Newcastle don’t have the European situation, they could go a little bit further in the Carabao Cup. Villa just can’t quite get going – they’ll win a game, then they’ll lose one or they’ll draw games they should have won. It looks like Newcastle are getting into a real run of form and when I look at their midfield with [Alexander] Isak up front, it’s looking pretty special.”
