Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will be out of action for 'between five and seven weeks' Pep Guardiola has confirmed.
Haaland scored in the Citizens' 2-1 win away to Bournemouth on Sunday to help put his side into the FA Cup semi-final but had to be withdrawn due to injury with just over an hour gone.
Reports had said that would be having a 'specialist consultation' for what may have been a serious ankle injury.
However, Haaland could still return before the end of the Premier League campaign and should be fit in time for the Club World Cup in summer.
"The doctors told me between five and seven weeks," Guardiola said about the 24-year-old's injury.
"So hopefully for the end of season and FIFA Club World Cup he will be ready."
City will of course miss Haaland, who has already bagged 30 goals in 40 games for his club this season.
"We don’t have another player with his skills or specific qualities we know that but we have to adapt.
"For many years, we've played with different ways up front and it depends on the qualities of the players. We’re going to find another solution."
The Manchester side return to Premier League action on Wednesday night as they host Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.
