Hernandez prepares to face ‘favourite’ opponent tomorrow – the numbers

Theo Hernandez will play from the first minute against Venezia tomorrow and with it being his ‘favourite’ opponent, AC Milan fans are right to expect a good performance.

The Frenchman has certainly picked himself up after a rather tough start to the season, struggling to get above all his defending right. Against Inter last time out, he did really well in both phases and earned a decent score in our player ratings.

Tomorrow, Milan will be up against Venezia at 12:30 CEST and while it’s rather obvious that the Rossoneri are the favourites, it’s a particularly good fixture for Hernandez. Indeed, in just three games against the Veneto side, the left-back has four goals and one assist.

No other opponent comes close in that sense, with three goals against Torino (14 games), Udinese (8) and Parma (6). Every game is different, of course, but with the new 3-4-3 formation the feeling is that Hernandez will get even more attacking opportunities tomorrow.

As for players to aim for and combine with in attack, the likes of Rafael Leao, Luka Jovic and Christian Pulisic should start again, with especially the striker hoping to continue his good run of form. Below, you can see the highlights from the last meeting away at Venezia, when Theo scored a brace.
