Transfer expert David Ornstein has provided Manchester United supporters some insight into the club’s summer plans.
It’s been common knowledge for some time now that the Red Devils’ priority heading into the transfer window is signing prolific attackers amidst a campaign in which they’ve scored merely 38 league goals while conceding 46.
Rasmus Hojlund has regressed from the promising forward he looked to be throughout his maiden term, while Joshua Zirkzee, who won’t feature again this season, has impressed with his attacking exploits but still failed to find the back of the net as much as he should’ve.
Alas, INEOS have turned their attention to Premier League-proven options in the forms of Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap.

Sanctioning deals for the pair should be as straightforward as transactions go, given Delap has a £30 million release clause in the event Ipswich Town are relegated while Matheus Cunha’s stands at £62.5m following his four-year contract extension back in February.
It’s thought Cunha has set his sights on an Old Trafford switch irrespective of whether they secure Champions League football for 2025/2026 by winning the Europa League. The Tractor Boys’ talisman, however, is also being targeted by Chelsea, who might be able to offer him a chance to play among Europe’s elite.
One thing’s for sure, though: United do not consider Victor Osimhen as a viable alternative to Delap.
“If Manchester United are to look at others, I’m assured it will not be Victor Osimhen – despite reports you might be reading,” Osimhen told NBC Sports on Monday evening. “He is not on the agenda for United. They will have other options because they might have to turn to them, or they could stick with internal solutions, such as a Rasmus Hojlund, and they focus on other positions.”
