Inter Milan have organized a first aid course for the squad after a couple of recent health emergencies during matches.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Nerazzurri team doctor Piero Volpi has led the initiative.
The last few weeks have seen two dramatic health emergencies during Inter matches.
The most high profile was the collapse of Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove.
The Italian international’s loss of consciousness brought a halt to the match between La Viola and the Nerazzurri. The match was postponed for 2025.
Bove was, fortunately, able to recover. However, it was a highly distressing incident for both teams’ sets of players as well as the fans.
In Thursday’s Coppa Italia match against Udinese, there was another dramatic health emergency in the stadium.
This time, it concerned the health of a fan in the stands at the San Siro.
Inter players became aware of the situation. Then, the match paused for a few minutes as medical staff attended to the fan.
These incidents have underlined the importance of first aid for the Inter squad.
Therefore, Inter team doctor Piero Volpi has worked with the players to instruct them in first aid.
