As discussed by Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk, Leroy Sané will likely receive a contract extension at Bayern Munich this summer.

The German international’s current deal is due to expire this June, with Premier League side Arsenal eagerly waiting to swoop in and sign the player for free.

There had been no confirmed discussions between Sané and Bayern until last week. However, as per the report, Bayern is indeed keen on getting Sané to extend his stay, and talks are due to accelerate in the coming weeks.

When you look at Sané’s stats, particularly in 2025, it’s no surprise that Bayern want to keep the 29-year-old winger.

Sané has nine goal contributions in 12 Bundesliga appearances so far in 2025 (6 goals and 3 assists). This impressive stat is only bettered by Harry Kane who has 10 goal contributions.

What’s more, Sané has created a special connection with Kane on the pitch, with the duo often linking up for goals more than other players. This was highlighted in Bayern’s 3-2 win against St. Pauli last weekend.

Sané’s new deal is likely to last three years, with the player taking a slight pay cut to stay in Bavaria.
