Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has this week provided an update on the future of on-loan winger Antony.
Attacker Antony is for his part of course in the midst of an altogether productive stint in Spain.
After linking up with La Liga outfit Real Betis on loan during the January transfer window, the Brazilian has since gone on to establish himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Looking a player reborn, Antony has racked up eight direct goal contributions across 12 appearances in all competitions to date.
With such fine form, though, comes inevitable chatter surrounding the future of the former Ajax man.
Antony, as things stand, is due to return to base with Manchester United in the summer, albeit with the brass at Real Betis expected to do their utmost to work out some form of agreement to bring the winger back to Spain.
Speaking to the media early this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his on-loan attacker’s future was put to Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim once more.
And the Portuguese tactician went on to explain:
“Antony to return? I’m planning the future but I don’t want to talk about the future in this moment. I just want to focus on the games.
“We see our players doing well on loan in a different context. That can happen and it’s a good sign for the club.”
