Manchester United are confident their £40m asking price for Antony will be met in the summer transfer window.
Antony has impressed since leaving the club on loan in the January transfer window. The Brazilian has four goals and two assists in 12 appearances for Real Betis, who have emerged as one of La Liga’s form teams.
The Spanish side have won six straight league games to climb into contention for Champions League qualification.
It’s a huge upturn in form from a difficult spell in the Premier League. After signing for Manchester United from Ajax in a deal worth around £82m, Antony scored just five goals in 62 league appearances.
Betis are interested in signing the 24-year-old on a permanent basis but would need to break their transfer record to land Antony, who is valued at £40m at Old Trafford.
However, The i Paper are reporting that rival interest has emerged. Atletico Madrid have reportedly expressed interest in signing the winger amid his successful spell in Spain.
Antony’s encouraging form means United are confident their demands will be met. The Red Devils need to sell to free significant funds for Ruben Amorim to spend and the departure of Antony would be a much-needed boost.
Marcus Rashford could also leave with a £40m purchase option included in his loan move to Aston Villa, while offers will be listened to for Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro.
