Manchester City are interested in a deal to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.
Pep Guardiola is set to overhaul his midfield options and has placed Gibbs-White on the club’s shortlist of options.
Kevin De Bruyne announced on Friday that he will be leaving Manchester City in the summer after a decade at the club, while fellow veterans Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could also move on at the end of the campaign.
Gibbs-White is a player of interest, The Football Faithful understands, having excelled in Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Champions League qualification.

The 24-year-old has five goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season. He made his England debut against the Republic of Ireland in September.
The arrival of Gibbs-White would also aid City’s homegrown quota, which could be significantly reduced in the summer. Of the eight homegrown players that City registered at the start of the season, two – Kyle Walker and Josh Wilson-Esbrand – left on loan mid-season. There are also doubts over the futures of James McAtee and Jack Grealish.
Forest will be reluctant to lose Gibbs-White, who has been a crucial part of their progress in recent campaigns. He was named Nottingham Forest Player of the Season during his debut campaign in 2022/23, after arriving from Wolves for an initial fee of £25m.
This season, he’s helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to third in the Premier League table. Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Manchester United leaves Forest six points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester City, with eight games to go. Forest have also reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1991, where they will face Manchester City at Wembley.
