Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez is once again in the spotlight, with reports from Mundo Deportivo linking him to a possible January move to Manchester United.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the English giants have shown interest in Gutierrez.
Just a year ago, they made an unsuccessful attempt to bring him to Old Trafford. However, this time, the Red Devils seem determined to secure his services as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
At just 22 years old, Gutierrez has already established himself as one of the finest left-backs in La Liga. A standout performer for Girona, his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively has made him a vital player for the Catalan side.
His attacking runs down the left flank create constant problems for opponents, while his improved defensive skills have solidified his role as a reliable presence at the back.
It is worth noting that Gutierrez’s career has strong ties to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants sold him to Girona in the summer of 2022 for €5 million, but they retained 50% of his rights along with a buy-back clause.

This clause allows Real Madrid to re-sign him for €8 million, should they choose to exercise it next summer. However, if another club makes an offer for the player, Real Madrid must be informed and would receive half of any transfer fee.
It is said that Gutierrez is a preferred choice for Ruben Amorim to bolster his squad.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s focus for strengthening the left-back position appears to be on Alphonso Davies.
The Canadian international is expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and could be a marquee signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. As the January transfer window approaches, Gutierrez’s future remains uncertain.
With interest from top clubs and Real Madrid holding a stake in his career and potential interest, the coming months could be pivotal for the young defender’s next chapter.
