Nasser Al-Khelaifi's 13 years of accomplishment

Article image:Nasser Al-Khelaifi's 13 years of accomplishment

As Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi becomes the longest-serving president in the capital club’s history, we take a look back at the period of more than 13 years of success and accomplishment that has turned PSG into one of the greatest sporting franchises in the world.

Paris Saint-Germain has a rich history of success, of ups and downs, of emotions and of accomplishments – both for its men and for its women – and the personalities that have successively presided over the club since 1970 have all ridden that emotional rollercoaster. Until now, Francis Borelli, one of the key architects of that history, had been PSG's longest-serving president, and it was also Borelli who helped Paris Saint-Germain to win its first-ever major trophy – the Coupe de France – in 1982. Today, though, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the man who has taken the capital club into a whole new galaxy, has beaten Borelli's record.

A DIZZYING LIST OF HONOURS

Paris Saint-Germain has become a multi-sports club, a club that wins on every playing field. This has been an important value under the presidency of Al-Khelaifi, who has always brought all of the club's departments to the forefront and guided them to plenty of wins and trophies along the way, as demonstrated most recently by its judo and Esports teams.

Since 2011, Paris Saint-Germain's teams have picked up a combined total of no fewer than 71 trophies, with its men's football side taking home 34 of those and thereby reinforcing Paris's monopoly on the national stage. This includes ten Ligue 1 titles (in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), seven Coupes de France (in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2024), six Coupes de la Ligue (in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020) and 11 Trophées des Champions (in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024).

The stats speak for themselves, too, as since 4th November 2011, Paris Saint-Germain's men's football team has played a total of 730 matches and won 516 of them, making for an overall win percentage of 71%!

AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED BRAND

All around the world, the Paris Saint-Germain brand has left its mark. Under Al-Khelaifi's leadership, PSG has become a leader in several areas through innovative and unique partnerships, not least the one with Jordan Brand, which has carried the capital club's colours across the entire globe.

PSG Academies have also been set up globally in order to convey the club's values, its expertise and its quality when it comes to player development. Each year, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy welcomes more and more children (currently 45,000) to its various football, handball, judo and Esports schools across 22 different countries.

In addition, PSG-branded stores have popped up all over the world, including in Asia, the United States and Europe, while the most recent one to open its doors was in London's iconic Oxford Circus.

Finally, a special mention has to go out to PSG For Communities, which promotes the club's values in wider society along with the values of sport: self-improvement, effort, mutual aid, respect and giving one's all. Since 2000, 300,000 young people have been supported through pioneering initiatives that rely on the values and virtues of education in order to provide their beneficiaries with fresh perspectives.

The four flagship programmes that PSG For Communities runs are its disabled football teams, its Cantines Solidaires (community kitchens), its Écoles Rouge et Bleu (schools in hospitals) and Allez Les Filles, which gives young girls access to sport.

PSG CAMPUS TAKES THE CLUB INTO A NEW DIMENSION

Having been occupied by Paris Saint-Germain's first team since the start of the 2023–2024 season, PSG Campus has brought the capital club into a whole new dimension. Our women's team and youth teams then settled in shortly afterwards to enjoy state-of-the-art facilities that are geared towards hard work and cutting-edge development.

With this new training centre, Paris Saint-Germain is pushing the quality of its player development to even greater heights. By bringing its talented youngsters closer to its professional players, the club has created an inspiring dynamic, with the ambition being to turn PSG Campus into the nerve centre for the development of the Île-de-France region's future footballing superstars.

The construction of an ultra-modern training centre in line with the club's ambitions had been part of a project undertaken since 2011, with Paris Saint-Germain investing more than €300m in order to boost the growth of its current and future generations of players even further. This wish has now accompanied President Nasser Al-Khelaifi for 4,890 days... and counting.
