RC Lens are in the midst of a dramatic transition as the club prepares for a new era without Franck Haise under the management of Will Still. Neil El Aynaoui (23) is reportedly close to a move away from Les Sang et Or with the midfielder agreeing personal terms on a transfer to AS Monaco.
However, El Aynaoui could well be joined in leaving the northern club by Nampalys Mendy (32). The Senegalese international is in the sights of the Qatari club Muaither SC, according to a report by Foot Mercato.
The French outlet states that Muaither are hopeful that they can convince Lens to part with the midfielder on a free transfer, as his large contract would alleviate some of the financial difficulties that are facing the club. However, Lens would much prefer to sell Mendy.
Mendy only joined the club last summer from Leicester City after his contract at the former Premier League winners expired and still has a year left on his contract with Lens.
