The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are ready to break their contract stance when it comes to players over the age of 30.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards as much as being set to come as a reward for the ongoing excellence of Thibaut Courtois.

Goalkeeper Courtois has of course continued to play a starring role for Real Madrid across the season to date.

Despite his advancing years, the Belgian has kept the talented Andriy Lunin on the bench whenever fit, racking up 43 appearances across all competitions.

And those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu, evidently, have been impressed by what they have seen across such outings.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Relevo that:

‘Despite the unwritten rule that at Real Madrid, those over 30 receive year-by-year renewals, Thibaut Courtois will be offered two more seasons, in addition to the one he still has left on his contract.’

As much will take the former Chelsea man all the way through the summer of 2028 as a Real Madrid player.
