Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez is on the verge of joining Inter, having just begun his medical tests with the Nerazzurri.

Spanish keeper Martinez started his medical tests with Inter in Milan on Thursday afternoon.

According to Sport Mediaset, the 26-year-old will sign a €1.5m-a-year contract until June 2029, completing a permanent €13m transfer.

Martinez will be Inter’s second-choice keeper in 2024-25, but the Nerazzurri have already planned to give him a starting spot from 2025-26, when Yann Sommer will be almost 37.

Martinez kept eight clean sheets in 36 Serie A appearances with Genoa in 2023-24.
