Graham Potter’s side return to action after 17 days without a match
Graham Potter must decide whether to hand Evan Ferguson a first West Ham start against Wolves on Tuesday night.
The striker, on loan from Brighton, has had to settle for cameos off the bench so far, but scored during the international break for the Republic or Ireland against Bulgaria.
Potter has opted for Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus as the two up front in his back-three system in recent weeks, and explained Ferguson’s lack of minutes in his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the trip to Wolves.
“You have to see the context of where he was in terms of minutes he has played previously,” Potter said.
“How he was on his return from injury. We got him at the really early stages of that return-to-play stage.
“To think that you can just walk into a Premier League team and just hit the ground running and play is difficult. But he has come on and helped us.
“In the last four matches we have picked up seven points and he has been part of the team and the group in that respect.”
Niclas Fullkrug is back in full first-team training and could make the squad at Molineux, but this match is expected to come too soon for him to start.
Crysencio Summerville remains out and Michail Antonio is a long-term absentee, but it is otherwise largely a fully-fit squad from Potter to choose from.
Carlos Soler and Edson Alvarez are potential options if changes are made in midfield.
Predicted West Ham XI: Areola; Kilman, Mavropanos, Todibo; Wan-Bissaka, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Emerson; Bowen, Kudus
Injured: Summerville, Antonio
Doubts: Fullkrug
